Obituary

Tiverton, RI – Charles A. Buckley, Sr., 77, of Tiverton, RI passed away at home on December 9, 2011. He was the husband of Lillian M. (Davis) Buckley to whom he was married for 58 years.


Mr. Buckley was born in Fall River, son of the late Charles W. and Anita Y. (Bourk) Buckley, and resided in Tiverton most of his life. He was employed as a lineman by the former Eastern Edison until his retirement in 1996, after 43 years of service. He was a member of the Fall River Montaup Retirees, the Adamsville Odd Fellows Lodge, and the Family Motor Group. He was also active for many years with the Boy Scouts.


In addition to his widow, he is survived by 2 daughters: Colleen M. Leighty of West River, MD and Cynthia L. Fish of Tiverton; 2 sons: Charles A. Buckley, Jr. and Christopher A. Buckley, both of Tiverton; a brother: Richard Buckley of Lakewood, CO; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, 9-11 A.M. at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport. Funeral services immediately following visiting hours on Tuesday at 11 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
