dePourtales, Rita M. (Dickson) “affectionately known to many as Sassy”, of Marshfield, Dec. 9, at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late L. James E. dePourtales. Dear mother of Jamie Buckley of Marshfield and her late husband Michael, Denise Capwell and her husband Herb of Marshfield, Melisse Reardon and her husband Michael of Darien, CT and the late Dianne Sampson. Mother-in-law of Frank Sampson of Duxbury. Loving grandmother of James, Kim, Gretchen and Jeffrey Sampson; Greg, Katy and Chris Buckley; Vicki, Jon and Ali Capwell; James, Tyler, and Jackie Reardon. Also survived by 6 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Annmarie Dickson of Quincy and many nieces and nephews.
Rita was born in Weymouth and raised in Quincy. She graduated from No. Quincy High School, class of l942. Rita was a long time employee of the Marshfield YWCA providing child care. Additionally, she was an avid volunteer at the Marshfield Fair, with the Girl Scouts and the Marshfield Public Schools as well as many other organizations.
Visiting hours at the MacDonald Funeral Home, l755 Ocean St., rte. l39, Marshfield on Monday, December l2 from 5 to 8 p.m.
A Funeral service will be held at the North Community Church, Old Main Street, Marshfield Hills, on Tuesday, December l3 at l0 a.m.
Interment in the Couch Cemetery, Marshfield.
