Obituary

John “Jack” Joseph McLaughlin died peacefully Friday December 9, 2011, age 79. He was born September 24, 1932 in New York, New York the youngest, along with his twin brother James, of seven children .

He is survived by his loving wife Maggie, three sons, John and Rachael, Kevin and Guy, Neil and Nina, and four adored granddaughters, Meghan, Rose, Sydney and Rylie. He is also survived by his twin brother James, sister Jean, and 13 nephews and nieces.

John’s parents died early in his childhood and he was raised by his devoted Aunt Agnes.

He met his wife, Maggie (nee Loughlin) on a blind date and they were married on September 1, 1956.

John moved his family to Natick Massachusetts in 1967. Having grown up in Manhattan, he loved the quality of life that Natick offered him and his family. If asked about living in Natick he would tell you that he thought he died and went to heaven.

A draftsman and engineer by trade, he enjoyed his work and continued to draw plans long after retirement.

John was a man of many hobbies, notably Ceili dancing, chess and painting. Anyone who participated with him in his hobbies was infected by his ever present enthusiasm.

John’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central St. Natick. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Natick. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from 3-6 PM in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) Natick.
