Donald James Houde Sr., age 73 of Fall River passed away Dec. 9, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Shirley (Paquin) Houde and the son of the late Arthur Houde & Irene Thibeault. Prior to retiring, Donald worked as an Inventory Control Manager for Raytheon. He was a US Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Amvets for over 30 years the latest being Post 72 of Somerset and he also was a State Officer serving in various positions for over 20 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge # 118 of Fall River.
Including his wife of Fall River, Donald is survived by his children: Donald J. Houde Jr. (wife Michele) of Fall River & Darleen L. Scully (husband John) of Plainville, MA; 4 grandchildren: Stephanie, Christen, Deanna, Nicholas Houde; 3 sisters: Dolores Arant of LA, Dorothy Souza & Patricia Foley both of Fall River; and several nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert and Arthur Houde and Pauline Maynard.
Relatives & friends are invited to visit with Donald’s family on SUNDAY from 4-7 P.M. with a service beginning at 7:00 P.M. in the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River.
