Robert S. Gaspar, 80, of Mattapoisett died December 8, 2011 at Sarah Brayton Nursing Home in Fall River after a brief illness.
He was the husband of the late Dorothy L. (Silveira) Gaspar.
Born and raised in Fall River, the son of the late Joao S. and Stella (Rego) Gaspar, he lived in Mattapoisett since 1970.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his 6 children, Sheryll A. Rodrigues and her husband Gene of Fall River, Dr. Lisa M. Salvatore and her husband Michael of Connecticut, Marc A. Gaspar and his fiancée Whitney Mitcheson of Wareham, Susan Sartini Perry and her husband Vernon of Lakeville, Joann L. Silva of Norman, OK and Matthew J. Silva of Mattapoisett; 7 grandchildren, Becky, Kyle, Brad, Neil, Alex, Lindsay and Orion; 3 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Miles and Jack; and several nieces and nephews.
His visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 11th from 3-7 PM with his Funeral Service at 4 PM during the visiting hours in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett.
