Obituary

Worcester – Joseph A. Dapsis, 79, of Worcester died on Wednesday, December 7th in the Beaumont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Northbridge after an illness.

Mr. Dapsis is predeceased by his wife of 51 years Joan (Stricklen) Dapsis, who died in 2007. He is survived by a son, Lawrence J. Dapsis and his wife Ruth of Middleboro; three daughters, Mary E. Carlson and her husband Robert of Worcester, Susan A. Joanis and her husband Paul of Uxbridge and Julia K. Dapsis of Ware; a sister Rose Chausse of Spencer; a brother Robert Dapsis of Florida; a step brother Jacob Dapsis; a step sister Virginia both of Vermont; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

Joseph was born in Sutton, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Matukevitch) Dapsis and is predeceased by a son Joseph A. Dapsis Jr. He served as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Joe worked for the F & G Construction Company for 55 years as a driver and was still working until his illness in April.

He enjoyed spending time in his yard, fishing and taking his chances on the lottery. The family of Mr. Dapsis would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the LaSalle Unit at the Beaumont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the exceptional care and support that was given to Joseph.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 10 AM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held from 9 to 10 Am before the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
