Francis Theodore “Frank” Mastro, 92, a former longtime resident of Natick, died at Leisure Village in Presque Isle, Maine, on Sunday, December 4, 2011, after a long battle with cancer. Born, raised and educated in Wellesley, he was the son of Angelo and Michelena (Greco) Mastro. Frank served with the Army in the European, African, and Middle Eastern Theatres during World War II. Retired from both the Railway Express Agency and the U.S. Postal Service. Frank was a Past Commander and Life Member of AMVETS Post 79 of Natick. Beloved husband of the late Helen (Murray) Mastro and Virginia (Behmer) Mastro, he is survived by two sons, Frank E. Mastro of Lebanon, NH, and Tom Mastro of Portage Lake, ME; a daughter, Carol Hall of SC; and several grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He was also predeceased by a son, John F. Mastro; a special friend, Roberta Depken; and several brothers and sisters.
Services will be held at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, at Natick Common, on Friday, December 9th at 1:00p.m. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at noontime. Frank will be laid to rest with Helen at Dell Park Cemetery, Natick.
