Obituary

WEBSTER - Helen A. (Twardzik) Mayotte, 99, formerly of Dudley and Webster, died Monday, December 5, 2011, in the Life Care Center of Auburn after an illness. Her husband, George J. Mayotte, died in 1947.

She leaves a son, Joseph G. Mayotte of Quinebaug, CT; a sister, Nellie Thompson of Dudley; 7 grandchildren, George Hetherman and his wife Mary Burke, Colleen Rogers and her husband Wayne, Jamie Hetherman, Shawn Peter Hetherman and his wife Angela, Kathleen Mayotte, Christopher Mayotte and his wife Lori, and Jeffrey Mayotte and his wife Kathy; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gloria H. Hetherman, by 3 brothers, Joseph, William and Chester Twardzik, and by 2 sisters, Stella Grochowski and Mamie Rulli.

She was born in Webster, the daughter of Jacob and Anna (Wojdasz) Twardzik. She lived in Dudley for many years, moving back to Webster in 1984 and then to Auburn in 1999.

Mrs. Mayotte was a spinner at Stevens Linen Associates in Dudley for several years, and then was a stitcher at B & W Footwear Company in Webster for several years before she retired in 1972. She was a member of Saint Andrew Bobola Church in Dudley and the Saint Anne Society of Saint Joseph Basilica in Webster.

The family would like to thank the staff at Auburn Life Care Center for their caring concern for Helen.

The funeral will be held Friday, December 9, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street, Dudley. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 8, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the activities center at Auburn Life Care Center, 14 Masonic Circle, Auburn, MA 01501.
