Josephine Brown Hunt, 90, of Fitzgerald, died Sunday, December 4, 2011, at the Life Care Center in Fitzgerald.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 8, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Godfrey O’Rear and the Rev. Tom Hunt officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Tina Dixon Daniels, 116 Cecil Circle, Fitzgerald.
Ms. Hunt was born February 4, 1921 in Wheeler County, Georgia to the late Joseph and Bertha Floyd Brown. She lived in Tampa, Florida for forty-eight years, moving back to Fitzgerald seven years ago. Ms. Hunt was a former private duty nurse, a former Certified Nurse’s Assistant, a former seamstress for Fitzgerald Underwear and a former security guard. She enjoyed helping others, playing the piano and was a member of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her children, Anna Ruth Jorgensen of Las Vegas, NV, Jo Beth & Willie Tochet of Duson, LA, Emma Lois & David Hines and William David Dixon of Spring, TX; 13 grandchildren, many great and great great grandchildren; sister, Mary Brown of Tybee Island and a brother, Charlie Brown of Metter. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by four sons, Hilton, Clifton, Shelven and Lee Everett Dixon and one sister.
