Edna Mae Brooks Davis 71, died Dec. 2, 2011 at the Brigham Women’s Hospital
in Boston, Massachusetts. Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 8 at
11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in Farmingdale, NY under the direction of McCourt-Trudden
Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
Edna was born January 1, 1940 in San Augustine, TX to Mr. Otherious Brooks and
Mrs. Maurine Brooks. Raised and educated in Orange, TX, she was a 1957 graduate
of Emma H. Wallace High School. She worked in the medical field and was a med-tech
in Oxon Hill, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her brother James Lewis Brooks,
her father, and her grandmother Callie Garrett. She leaves to cherish her memories
her mother, her step-father John Lazenby, 2 daughters, Nedra Francis (Johnnie) of
Orange, TX, Kie Rosenberg (Ross) of Brooklyn, NY. 5 sons, Lionell Alphonse of Houston, TX,
James Jones (Rebecca), New Haven, CT, Joseph Jones (Kristen) of Chestnut Hill, MA
John Jones (Evelyn) of Long Island, NY, Michael Davis (Lacy) of Athens, OH. 2 brothers,
Otis James Brooks (Emma) of Ft. Washington, MD, David A. Brooks (Pat) of Marshall, TX.
1 sister, Antoinette Sterling of Orange, TX. 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and a
Host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Associate Pastor Mark Sanders of Starlight
Church of God in Christ of Orange, TX will officiate. Special thanks to Joe and Kristen.
