Obituary

Robert Allen Malmberg, 81, of Medway died suddenly December 3 in Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Dorothy (Antonucci) Malmberg.
Born in Cambridge, August 29, 1930, the son of the late Maurice H.S. and Edna (Barratt) Malmberg, Mr. Malmberg was raised in Cambridge and had lived in Medway since 1961.
Mr. Malmberg had worked as a machinist at the former Polaroid Corporation. He had previously worked at the Watertown Arsenal, and for the past 3 years he had worked at the Town of Medway recycling center.
Mr. Malmberg served in the Army during the Korean War attaining the rank of Private First Class.
He had been active member of the Medway VFW and past District 5 Commander of the VFW.
He was also a member of the Franklin Elks Club, the Milford DAV, and the Sons of the Civil War, the Masonic Lodge in Watertown and a member of the Shriner’s.
Bob had volunteered at the New England Center for Homeless Veterans.
He had enjoyed camping and deep sea fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his children, Maurice H. S. Malmberg II of Medway, Joseph R. Malmberg of Medway, Anthony M. Malmberg of Medway, Robert A. Malmberg ,Jr. of Medway, David A. Malmberg of Medway and Steven A. Jones of Colorado.
He is also survived by his sisters, Ruth Howell of Maine, Dottie Siek of NH, Joan Bass of FL and Carol Watts, Andrea Morgan and Janet Morrison, all of Reading.
He was the brother of the late Richard Malmberg.
He is also survived by 7 grandchildren.
His funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 8 in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in West Medway.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the New England Center for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108.
