Janie Louella Chandler McCullar, age 88, died Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Yalobusha General Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS. She was born July 27, 1923 in Yalobusha County, MS to the late David and Izora Chandler. Janie was a homemaker and enjoyed canning, cooking and sewing. She loved her grandchildren, family and friends. Janie was a member of Sylva Rena Baptist Church in Water Valley, MS.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2011 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. James West officiating. Burial will be in the Sylva Rena Cemetery in Yalobusha County, MS with Howard Tindall, Colton, Cook, Larry Cook, Frank B. Brooks, Bill Norris and William McCullar serving as pallbearers.
Janie is survived by her daughter, Nellie Katherine Harris (Lamar) of Batesville, MS; two sisters, Helen Kyzer (Billy) and Nancy Baker (Jimmy) both of Batesville, MS; two grandchildren, Sherry Cook and Howard Tindall; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Howard McCullar; one sister, Eva Pendergrass; two brothers, Anderson Chandler and Daniel Chandler, and a special nephew, Bleathon McCullar.
