Genevieve T. Brawley
of Tewksbury, formerly of Medford and Malden
TEWKSBURY: Genevieve T. (Cronin) Brawley, age 84, a resident of Tewksbury for 20 years, passed away on Friday evening, December 2, 2011 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.
She was the beloved wife of John H. Brawley, Jr., who passed away in 1984.
Born in Charlestown on March 3, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Margaret (Lordan) Cronin.
Mrs. Brawley was raised in Medford and attended St. Clements Parochial Grammar and High School.
In her early years, she was employed as a Seamstress by the Simmons Mattress Company.
She resided in the Medford and Malden area until moving to Tewksbury in 1992.
Mrs. Brawley enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was a proud member of Red Sox Nation.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas A. Brawley and his wife Elizabeth of Tewksbury and Walter E. Brawley and his wife Melanie of Derry, NH; four grandchildren, John T. Brawley, Joshua, Sarah and Matthew Torbin all of Derry, NH; two brothers, John Cronin and his wife Pam of Wilmington and William Cronin of Medford; also many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Brawley was the sister of the late Josephine Moriarty, Margaret Carlin, Joseph and Dennis "Buddy" Cronin.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 6, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, December 7, at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m., at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
