Obituary

COSTA, Marie-Therese (nee Leroy) On December 3, 2011 Marie-Therese (nee Leroy) Costa passed away peacefully in the company of her children at her home in Wellesley after a brief illness. Marie-Therese, raised in Reims, France, was predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, D. Jesse Costa. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Marie-Christine and her husband the Hon Richard Leon of Chevy Chase, MD, her son Dr. Daniel J. Costa, Jr. and his wife Kathryn of Naperville, IL, daughter Claudine M. Eilberg and her late husband Gerald of Needham, grandchildren Nicholas, Josh, Lauren, Kymberly and the late Justin Eilberg; and great grandchildren Marissa, Jake & Nyssa. Marie-Therese met her husband Jesse in Belgium in 1947 where she was working for the Allied Forces. After their wedding the newlyweds moved to the Boston area settling in Wellesley. Marie-Therese worked for Air France, Chez Jean in Cambridge and Fraser's Flowers in Wellesley. Marie-Therese was an accomplished artist and gardener who at age 87 began volunteering at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital Thrift Shop with her life-long friend Gilou Delbert. Marie-Therese leaves her sister Genevieve and brothers Henri, Lucien and his wife Yvette, Michel and his wife Denise, all of France. Marie-Therese was loved by all who came in contact with her and universally described as a sweet and loving gentlelady. We bid "Adieu" to our French Rose and Madame La Marquise Au Revoir.

Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., WELLESLEY, Tue. at 9am. Funeral Mass, St. Paul's Church, Wellesley Tue. at 10am. Relatives & friends kindly invited, visiting hrs Mon 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Internment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to American Cancer Society and the Wellesley Council on Aging.
