AUBURN/LEICESTER: John J. Brosky, 98, of 669 Washington St., Auburn formerly of 92 Manville St., Leicester, died Thursday, Dec. 1 at St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
He was the husband of Helen (Lucey) Brosky who died in 1982. He leaves his daughter Judith B. Butler and her husband Eugene of Paxton, a son Jerrold T. Brosky and his wife Dee of Tucson, Ariz., six grandchildren Kimberly Paquette and her husband Christopher, Lisa Fagan and her husband Dennis, Christopher Butler and his wife Carolyn, Johnathan and his partner Joanna, Timothy Butler and his wife Lizida and Mark Butler and his wife Melissa Sciolino, MD., ten great grand children Zachary, Sarah, Andrew, Matthew, Nicholas, Emilia, Alexa, Ryan, Victoria, and Alexandria, nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his son John R. Brosky in 2004, his brother Joseph J. Brosky, and two sisters Doris Stuart and Blanche Greeney.
John was the owner and President of AB Dick Products Co., in Worcester for more than 30 years, retiring in 1978.
He was born in Palmer, the son of George and Blanche (Zurek) Brosky. He later graduated from Leicester High School and Becker College in 1934. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, and the Leicester Knights of Columbus. An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of Pleasant Valley C.C. in Sutton and Woodhaven C.C. in Palm Desert, Calif. He recorded 4 “holes in one”. Along with his parents, he operated “Brosky’s Grove” in Leicester for many years. He will be sadly missed.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 7 from the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 12p.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 759 Main St., Leicester. Calling hours are Wednesday from 10 to 11:30a.m.prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Leicester.
