Dana R. (Baldino) Bossa, age 65 of Brockton, died Tuesday November 29, 2011 at Good Samaritan Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Dana was born on April 4, 1946 in Newark, New Jersey, a daughter of the late Carmen T. and Emily E. (Serritella) Baldino and stepdaughter of the late Albert Seprinski. Raised in New Jersey and Connecticut, Dana moved to Bridgewater while in high school and was a 1964 graduate of Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School. As a teenager, she was very involved in high school activities and attended football games and dances. Soon after graduation, she went to work at the Brockton Enterprise. During her career, she became the first female outside sales representative with the newspaper and was a longtime member of The Newspaper Guild. Her illness forced her early retirement from The Enterprise in 1997.
Dana enjoyed cooking and was happiest hosting a house full of people for the holidays. She loved the music of Frank Sinatra, movies and traveling. Her favorite trips were to Las Vegas, Cooperstown, N.Y., (home of the Baseball Hall of Fame), and she was looking forward to a trip to Italy. She was a passionate fan of the New York Yankees. Her fondest baseball memories were meeting star first-baseman Don Mattingly and attending the 1996 World Series at Yankee Stadium. Dana will be remembered as an outgoing and engaging person who loved people.
“She was a carefree lover of life,” said her brother, David Seprinski. One of her closest friends, Carol Andrews, said Dana made everyone around her happy. “I never met anyone who didn’t like her,” Carol said. “She brought joy to every room she entered.”
Dana never lost her spirit after suffering a stroke, her sister Terry said. “She was not only my inspiration, but an inspiration to many.” Dr. Francis Freccero of Brockton, who treated Dana for many years, said, “She was a wonderful, goodhearted lady.”
“I will always remember Dana as a caring, giving -- and never asking for anything in return -- loving sister,” said her brother, Allen Seprinski. “Everyone else came first in Dana's eyes. She truly loved life and lived it to the fullest extent possible. I am so proud to have had her as my sister and in my heart.” Dana’s niece, Alanna Seprinski, said, “I don’t think I have ever been with Aunt Dana when she was not smiling or laughing. She had a huge personality. She was perfect in so many ways.”
Dana was the devoted and cherished mother and best friend of Kathy Bossa of Brockton; loving sister of Terry Orcutt and her husband Jim of Easton, Allen Seprinski and his wife Joanne of Melbourne, Fla., and David Seprinski and his wife Nancy of Abington; and special friend of John Lamore of Avon. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
