WORCESTER___Irene M. (Maciejewski) Gedman, 79, of 40 Belmont St., died Thursday March 11 in Radius Health Care, 119 Providence St. Her husband, Walter S. Gedman died in 1979.
She leaves two sons, Stephen W. Gedman and his wife, Donna of Millbury and John A. Gedman of Leicester; a brother, John Mack and a sister, Rita Hrubic both of Worcester; five grandchildren, Kristopher Gedman, Michelle Gedman, Dawn Gedman, Tracy Gedman and Christine M. Roy; and a great-grandson, Nicholas. She was predeceased by three brothers and one sister, Edward, Chester and Anthony Mack and Beatrice Kissiel. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Anthony and Mary (Chehomski) Maciejewski and lived here all her life.
Mrs. Gedman was a secretary and receptionist 14 years for the Worcester Housing Authority and retired in 1986. Before then she was a seamstress many years for David Clark Co., where she made the bladder for astronaut space suits. She graduated from David Hale Fanning Trade High School.
She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and was a former member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. She lived for her family.
The funeral will be held on Monday March 15, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 43 Belmont St. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday March 14 from 4 to 7 p.m.
