
SLACK, Norman Of Foxhill Village, Westwood, November 25, 2011 at age 85. Beloved husband of the late Harriett Dilworth, and loving father of Roger Stillwater and his wife, Sarah Measures of Maynard and Kim Slack and his wife Amanda Mujica of Belmont. Beloved grandfather of Allegra Mujica, and Isabelle and Michael Reining. Caring brother of Gene Slack and his wife, Ginny. He also had many loving nieces and nephews.
Norm grew up on an Illinois farm near Canton. He graduated as an agricultural engineer from University of Illinois. He spent more than 20 years as an engineer at Ford Tractor in Birmingham, Michigan. He earned an MBA from Wayne State University before retiring from Ford in 1980. Then, he and Harriett moved to Albuquerque where he engineered wind turbines at the University of New Mexico. After retiring from the University, he and Harriett volunteered as docents at the Albuquerque Natural History Museum and were active in the local literacy program.
Norm was gentle and unassuming. Many knew him as a kind, caring and giving person, who strove to leave the world a little better. He was supportive and loving father and husband. His life-long Christian faith provided solace in adversity and guided his daily life. He will be missed.
