WORCESTER___Virginia N. (Jurgelonis) Cummings, 77, of The Lutheran Home, 26 Harvard St., formerly of 27 Marion Ave., died Thursday March 11 in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center. Her husband of 51 years, Dwight I. Cummings died May 30, 1998.
She leaves two sons, Dennis F. Cummings of Holden and Gary A. Cummings of Worcester; a daughter, Karen F. Kelley of Worcester; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces. A son, David P. Cummings of North Brookfield died in 1992. She was also predeceased by a brother, Joseph Jurgelonis and two sisters, Marion “Mae” March and Veronica Scarbeau. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Andrew and Michalina (Jonas) Jurgelonis and lived here all her life.
Mrs. Cummings was a member of St. Casimir’s Church and its former Mothers Guild, Council 26 Knights of Lithuania and the Lithuanian Charitable Society.
The funeral will be held on Monday March 15 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Casimir’s Church, 41 Providence St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday March 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. Members of Council 26 Knights of Lithuania will meet at 6 p.m. during callling hours to conduct their ritual.
