Obituary

WORCESTER - Adrien "Shorty" Fortier, 77, of 118 Malden Street an Army and Navy veteran died Saturday Feb. 16 at home after an illness.

He leaves his wife Helen M. (Denio) Fortier of Worcester; one brother Joseph Fortier of Worcester; three sisters Adrianne O'Neil, Helen Poppilo and Margaret Thibeault all of Worcester; several nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester son of Joseph R. and Marie J. (Savoie) Fortier.

Mr. Fortier worked for Yankee Product as a Truck Driver for many years. He aslo worked for Economical Wholesale retiring in 2000. He was a member of St. Christopher's Church, Worcester Lodge of Elks No. 243, American Legion Main South Post 341 and a life member of the Disable American Veterans.

Mr. Fortier served in the U.S. Army and Navy during World War II.

The funeral will be held Wednesday Feb. 20 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street with a mass at 10 AM in St. Christophers Church 950 West Boylston Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are on Tuesday Feb. 19 from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice VNA Care, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
