Allie Broome Helms, 93, of Tifton, Georgia, died Monday, November 28, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Tifton.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 30, at Brushy Creek Cemetery with Elder Ed McIntyre officiating. The family will meet at the funeral home in Ocilla one hour before the service.
Mrs. Helms was born April 25, 1918 in Coffee County to the late William Thomas and Ethel Godfrey Broome. She lived in Tifton for the past five years from Griffin and was a former resident of Ocilla, Jacksonville, FL and Atlanta. Mrs. Helms was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles & Sharon Spicer of Tifton; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara & Tom Slagle of Homosassa, FL; 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Walker & Louise Broome of Jacksonville, FL. along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Helms.
