Derek W. Munroe, 60, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, November 28, 2011, at Dorminy Medical Center.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 1, 2011, at St. Matthews Episcopal Church with Father Stan Christian officiating.
Derek was born June 26, 1951 in Nassau NP, Bahamas to the late Harvey Helon and Laverna Collins Munroe. He lived in Fitzgerald for the past thirty-seven years. Derek was retired owner/operator of Colony Cleaners. He was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his wife, Susan T. Munroe of Fitzgerald; children, Christopher & Cindy Munroe of Fitzgerald, Duane & Jennifer Munroe of Conyers and Wendy & Steven Herod of Fitzgerald; sisters, Norma Troup of Pennsylvania and Peggy Faulk of Florida; brother, Eddie & Beverly Munroe of Florida; sister-in-law, Sherry & Bill Seabrooke of Cumming; brother-in-law, Chip & Beverly Thompson of Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Brittnea, Sara & Kirsten Herod, Megan & Alex Munroe and Samantha & Elizabeth Munroe. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mizpah Griffin and Grace Kelshaw.
