DUDLEY - Frank E. Socha, 93, of Dudley, died Monday, November 28, 2011 in UMass/Memorial Healthcare, Worcester, after being stricken ill.
He leaves his wife of 69 years, Anita R. (Allard) Socha; a daughter, Candace G. Kuper and her husband Jason of Eastford, CT; a sister, Esther Twardzik of Dudley; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
He was born and raised in Webster, a son of Louis and Helen (Kuzawa) Socha. He moved to Dudley in 1954.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a corporal in Normandy, France, the Rhineland and Central Europe.
Mr. Socha was a heat treater at Wyman Gordon Company in Grafton for 10 years and then at Norton Company, now Saint Gobain, in Worcester for 15 years. He retired in 1982. He was a member of Saint Andrew Bobola Church.
The funeral will be held Thursday, December 1, at 11:00 AM in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster. A calling period will be from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will provide the military honors at the cemetery. Donations in his name may be made to the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council, Veterans Way, Webster, MA 01570.
