Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Marilyn F. (Nasser) LeBlanc, 73, died Sunday, November 27, 2011 at her home following complications from taking chemotherapy treatments. She was the loving wife of Joseph P. LeBlanc, Sr.
Born in Boston on May 11, 1938, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Honnor) Nasser. A resident of Gloucester for most of her life, she was a graduate of St. Ann School and attended Gloucester High School.
Marilyn worked as a bartender, owner and manager at the Green Tavern in Gloucester for thirty years, where she acquired and made many friends over the years. Marilyn was known as “Mal” and everyone who knew her, loved her for her quick wit, as she always had an answer for everything. She was also known as an avid animal lover.
In addition to her husband of forty-one years, she is survived by her four children, John and his wife, Pamela Arnold, Robert Arnold, Stephen and his wife, Vivien Arnold and Janet Roberts; twelve grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Ed and his wife, Sharon Nasser and Fred and his wife, Susan Nasser, many cousins and a special friend, Mildred Ball. She was also predeceased by her son, Joseph P. LeBlanc, Jr. and her step-mother, Barbara Nasser.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday in the Holy Family Parish, St. Ann Church at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite, B-102, Danvers, MA 01923 or to the VNA Care/Network, 8 Angle St., Gloucester, MA 01930.
