SPENCER;Leo J. Bassett 94 beloved father, grandfather and brother who will be missed dearly, died Tuesday March 9 at Oakwood Rehab.& Nursing Center in Webster. He was the husband of Helen (Kosiarski) Bassett who died in 1971. He leaves a daughter Irene R. wife of Robert W. Gould, Sr. of Webster, three grandsons Robert W. Gould, Jr. of Webster, James R. Gould of Putnam, Ct., and William P. Gould of N.Grosvenordale, Ct. three grandaughters Donna M. Cleaves of Webster, Sheila M. LaPlante of Dudley and Leona M. DiTullio of Webster, a sister Jeannette LaCroix of Branford, Ct., 18 great grand, and 2 great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Bassett was a wire tester at the former Worcester Wire Co for 35 years, retiring in 1974. Born in Spencer, he was the son of Ulric and Lucy (Lamothe) Bassett. Mr. Bassett played drums for many years with the "Leo Bassett" Orchestra. He was a former member of the former Spencer Redmen's Club I.O.R., and the Spencer Lion's Club. The funeral will be held Saturday, March 13 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial wil be in Mary,Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer.
