TAUNTON – Lillian (Barboza)Barros, a longtime Taunton resident, died at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston on Nov. 23, 2011.
She was 73.
Born in East Freetown, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Gomes) Barboza.
Mrs. Barros worked as a housekeeper for the Taunton Regency Hotel and Holiday Inn, and in private homes for many years.
In addition, she had worked for Burger King, Boyden Plastics, Texas Instruments and Rand McNally.
In her spare time, Mrs. Barros enjoyed reading, cooking and traveling.
Survivors include two sons, Ricardo Barros of San Diego, CA, and Darren Barros of New Bedford; three daughters, Sharon Vargas and Tracey Rezendes, both of New Bedford, and Margaret Barros of Taunton; two brothers, Ernest and William Barboza, both of New Bedford; seven grandchildren, Preston, Sean, Meagan, Christopher, Tory, Tyler and Jeffrey; three great grandchildren, Corey, Elias and Khalia; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late George Barros, Jr. and Claire Marie Barros, and the sister of the late Anthony, Charles, Henry, George and Claire Barboza, and the late Jennie Anacleto.
Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, at St. Mary’s Square, Taunton, on Monday, Nov. 28th at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Nov. 27th from 3 to 6 p.m. and on Monday, Nov 28th from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the Services.
