MacDONALD, Alice R.- In Revere, formerly of Chelsea, November 23rd. Devoted daughter of the late Joseph D. and Alice R. (Kral) MacDonald. Beloved sister of Clara Rogerson of Norwell, William MacDonald of Lynnfield and the late Ellen Donnelly, Edna Riley, Rita Goodwin, Anna Benedetti, Joseph, Harry, Donald and Frederick MacDonald. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invied to attend a Funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, CHELSEA on Monday, November 28th at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Rose Church, 600 Broadway, Chelsea at 11 o'clock. Services will conclude with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. A month shy of her 90th birthday, Alice, who up until 1987 resided in Chelsea, when she began receiving supportive care, first at the Parkway Manor Nursing Home in Everett and for the last 10 years at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center in Revere, passed away at the Lighthouse early Wednesday morning. During World War II, she worked as a welder at the Navy Yard, then as a machinist for Arnold and Copeland and lastly up until her retirement as an assembler for Chelsea Clock.
