Dorothy M. “Dolly” (Harrington) Stone age 78 of Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton, died Monday November 21, 2011 at the Signature Healthcare/Brockton Hospital after a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of William F. Stone for over 50 years. Dolly was born and raised in Roxbury and had lived in Brockton for over 40 years before moving to Bridgewater several years ago.
A graduate of Cathedral High School in Boston, Dolly had worked in the cafeteria at Cardinal Spellman High School for over 20 years. She loved trips to Foxwoods but also enjoyed staying home to raise her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Dolly was the mother of Richard T. Stone of West Bridgewater, Rhonda T. McElhinney and her husband Brian of Bridgewater, Randy A. Stone and his wife Rachel of Brockton and the late Robin “Co-Co” Scannell and Bob and Ronald “Ziggy” Stone. She was the cherished grandmother of Ryan P. and Arielle A. McElhinney, Laurel M. Scannell, Kaylee Ferreira and Anthony Stone. She also leaves a brother Robert Harrington.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday November 26, 11 am to 3 pm with a prayer service at 2:30 pm. Burial will be at a later date in the Mass. National Cemetery in Bourne.
