MADELYN J. (BLACKDEN) HOUSE, 93, of Hull, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011 at the Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham. Mrs. House was born in Mars Hill, Maine where she spent her early life before moving to Hull 65 years ago. She owned and operated the Cozy Nook Restaurant in Hull for 12 years before becoming associated with Talbots of Hingham and Building #19, also in Hingham.
She was the wife of the late Linwood P. House and mother of Judith A. Richardson of Hull, Donna M. Hynson-MacIver of Weymouth and the late Nancy L. Batte. Sister of Donald F. Blackden of New Durham, NH, and the late Natalie Noddin, Carroll Blackden, Lillian Cropper and Merle Blackden. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, Nov. 26th at 10 AM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham. Friends may visit at the Downing Chapel on Friday from 5-8 PM.
