Boylston - Ruth M. (Donaldson) Coyle, 93, passed away peacefully at the Sterling Healthcare Center on Monday, November 21, 2011. Her husband of 47 years, John B. Coyle, died in 1990. Ruth was born in Boylston, daughter of Marion L. (Mitchell) and Edgar B. Donaldson and was a graduate of Commerce High School in Worcester. Ruth was a member of First Congregational Church of Boylston and its Ladies' Benevolent Society and the Boylston Graduates' Association. She was the Boylston Town Clerk from 1960-1969. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Boylston from 1968-1981. Ruth was a nature lover and enjoyed photography, bird watching, and gardening. She also enjoyed crocheting.
She is survived by her daughter, Ruth E. Coyle, of Boylston; a sister, Elizabeth J. Dahlin, of Sterling; and two granddaughters, Catherine Coyle of Idaho and Christine Coyle of Oklahoma. A son, John B. Coyle, Jr., preceded her in death, as well as her sisters, Alice L. Bump and Marion V. Donaldson; and her brother, Edgar S. Donaldson.
Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester, Monday, Nov. 28, from 9 - 10:30 a.m. The funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the First Congregational Church of Boylston, 10 Church Street, Boylston. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Boylston or the Boylston Firefighters Assn., P.O. Box 634, Boylston, MA 01505.
