Pauline Swails Metts, 90, of Douglas, GA passed away on Monday, November 21, 2011 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Metts was born in Ambrose, GA to the late Lee Swails and Betty Swails Smith. She had worked at Federal Corset as a seamstress and she was a member of Salem Holiness Baptist Church. Mrs. Metts was preceded in death by her husband: Leroy Metts; daughter in law: Patricia Metts and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 23. 3011 in the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tommy Greene officiating. Burial will follow in the Douglas City Cemetery.
Survivors include: sons: Carl Metts, Douglas, GA; Carlton (Charlene) Metts, Douglas, GA; grandsons: Michael (Joyce) Metts and David (Michelle) Metts; step grandson: David (Lori) Terrell; 3 great grandchildren and 3 great step grandchildren all of Douglas, GA; sisters: Lucille Stegal, Atlanta, GA, Virginia McNeal, Waycross, GA, Josephine Chaney, Tifton, Ga, Eloise Wooley, Destin, FL and Carolyn Richetson, Broxton, GA and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
