TAUNTON – Alice (Silvia) Souza Gadry, wife of late Roland N. Gadry and the late Antone Souza, Sr. died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on Nov. 19, 2011.
She was 85.
Born in Taunton, and a lifelong resident, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Mary (Silvia) Silvia.
Alice was employed by Bloom Bus Lines as a bus driver, and worked as a crossing guard for many years until retirement.
An avid Bingo player, she enjoyed playing cards, especially Whist.
Alice also loved to cook, and spend time with her family and friends.
A communicant of Holy Family Church in East Taunton, she spent her winters in Florida.
Survivors include three sons, Antone Souza, Jr. and his wife Gail of Masardis, ME, David Souza of Winthrop, MA and Richard Souza and his wife Lori of San Antonio, TX; a daughter, Valerie Souza of Taunton; two brothers, Antone Silvia, Jr. of Taunton, and George Batista of WV; six sisters, Mary Flint of Berkley, Rose Brophy of Taunton, Sarah Silvia of Wareham, MA, Madeline Pacheco of Wollaston, MA, Edith Flint of Dover Foxcroft, ME and Marilyn Smith of Dighton; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Linda and Robert Souza, and the sister of the late Joseph Silvia and Dorothy Pacheco.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, Nov. 23rd at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at Holy Family Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 22nd from 5 to 8 p.m.
