Phyllis W. Bacon, 95, of Hanson, passed away peacefully at the Sachem Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born and raised in Brockton, daughter of the late Earle W. and Cora (Whitmore) Bacon.
Phyllis was a graduate of Brockton High School and the Burdett College in Boston.
In her younger years she was a bookkeeper for the Brockton United Fund, for more than 30 years.
Phyllis was the former chairman of the Brockton Christian Business and Professional Women’s Council.
She was a Hanson resident for many years and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Hanson.
Phyllis was an avid reader, loved animals, she always had a pet in her house and most of all, she loved to write poetry and had a poem for everyone.
She is survived by her sister, Louise Jacobs, her nephew Dana Jacobs, her grandnephew Peter Jacob, her grandniece Trista Jacob, all of Virginia, her cousin Robert Bacon od Colorado, her dear friend and caretaker ,Judith Allen of East Bridgewater and many other dear friends at the Calvary Baptist Church. She was also the aunt on the late David Jacobs.
Her services will be held on Friday November 25th at 11:00AM in the Calvary Baptist Church, 429 Monponsett St., Hanson, MA. Burial will be at a later date in the Pine Hill Cemetery , Plymouth, MA Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the church 10:00-11:00AM.
