Antone “Tony” Silvia, age 73 of Somerset, passed away Nov. 20, 2011. He was the husband of the late Janice (Spicer) Silvia and the longtime companion of Constance “Connie” Cabral of Somerset. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Joseph & Mary (Barbosa) Silvia. Prior to retiring, Tony worked as a Machine Operator for E.Y.A. Co. of Fall River, and previously worked as a Swansea Auxiliary Police Officer. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of the former Baystate Ham Radio Club of Fall River, and an avid fan of all New England Sports Teams.
Antone was the father of Ronald Silvia & his wife Donna of Swansea and the late James Silvia; the brother of Helen Mello of Fall River, Jenny Stockhowser of KY, & the late Rita White; grandfather of Tony, Ronald, Chris, Jacob, & Ashley. He also leaves several nieces & nephews, a stepson, Raymond Cabral of Fall River and two step granddaughters, Lindsey & Alana.
Family & friends are invited to attend Tony’s funeral service on WEDNESDAY at 9:00 A.M. in the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St., Fall River. Interment in Nathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset. Calling hours on TUESDAY 4-8 P.M.
