
Alfred D. “J.R.” McCassie, Jr. 49, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Northborough and Medway, died Friday November 18, 2011 at the UMASS Medical Center in Worcester following a long, hard-fought battle with esophageal cancer.
He was the beloved husband of Terry (Carlin) McCassie, and son of Alfred and Florence (Ribotto) McCassie of Medway.
Mr. McCassie worked for many years for Baker Fence Company of Southborough.
He was an avid sports enthusiast; especially for the Patriots, Bruins, and NASCAR with his favorite driver being Jeff Gordon. He had a lifelong love of bowling and enjoyed watching classic Westerns. Mr. McCassie was always concerned about helping others and in keeping with his kindness he requested that his corneas be donated to the New England Organ Bank to continue his legacy of helping and giving.
In addition to his wife and parents he is survived by one daughter Cheyenne McCassie of Shrewsbury, his step daughter Sheena Carlin of Northborough, two sisters Julia Gross of Franklin, Cheryl Corman and her husband George of Milford, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Services on Wednesday, November 23 at 11:00 A.M. in the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.
Interment at St. Zephrin Cemetery, Wayland.
