Carmelo D'Anna, 70 of Somerville, died Friday after a long illness in the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA.
Born in Italy, he was the son of the late Santa (Mulone) and Gaetano D'Anna. Carmelo was a Groundskeeper at the Chelsea Soldiers Home for over 30 years and retired 8 years ago.
Beloved husband of Phyllis (Baglio). Devoted father of Sandra Janiluinas, Guy D'Anna, and Claire D'Anna all of Somerville. Loving grandfather of Ariana, Kayla and Zachary. Brother of Maddalena Giardina of Somerville and the late Giuseppa Giardina and Calogero D’Anna. Brother in law of Maddalena D'Anna, Salvatore and Antonino Giardina.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD TUESDAY at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford St., Somerville, at 10 AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Monday 4 - 8.
Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
