Peter Kimball Beals of Marshfield Hills, age 55, passed away early in the morning on November 14, 2011 with his wife by his side, after a two year battle with esophageal cancer. Pete leaves his wife Pamela Taylor Beals of Marshfield, his daughters Amy and Allison Beals of Fall River and his granddaughters Ciara and Ava Medeiros of Fall River. He also leaves his father, Joseph Beals Jr. of Marshfield and Orleans, MA and was predeceased by his mother Mary Margaret “Peggy” (Palmer) Beals, his brothers Joseph (Deena) Beals III of Marshfield, Thomas Beals (Jean) of Acton, David Beals (and the late Nancy) of Walnut Creek, California, and Dexter (Yael) Beals of Arlington. Peter also leaves his sister Sarah Beals of Eastham. Pete was uncle to eight nieces and five nephews. He also leaves behind many satisfied customers, who became his friends over the years.
Pete was born in Weymouth and raised in Marshfield. He graduated from Marshfield High School in 1974 and attended Northeastern University. Pete was the owner of The Body Shop at Marshfield Hills for fifteen years before opening The Body Shop of Kingston Hills (a new geographical location in Kingston created by Pete) for five years. He took great pride in being a licensed auto body appraiser and having graduated from the Jack Conway School of Real Estate. Pete’s love of cars was inspired by his unique artistic ability to make something out of anything. His award winning sculptures were exhibited at the North River Arts Society. He was fondly known as a quirky, artistic, kind man with a unique sense of humor who had both beautiful eyes and a great smile. He took pleasure in spending time with his family and pets, walking in nature and creating sculptures around the yard, while tinkering on his many vehicles. He told his wife he was most happy walking in a junk yard looking for that perfect missing part for one of his fleet of cars (presently nine) and sculptures. He led his life as a cheerful and honest man and was so until his last breath. If there is a lesson to be learned from Pete’s life it is to be good to each other and live optimistically.
Funeral services will be private. A celebration of Pete’s life will take place on December 10th at the Marshfield Hills Coffee House located at the North Community Church Parish Hall from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. Friends are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund for Pete’s granddaughters has been set up at Eastern Bank in the name of the Peter K. Beals Grandchildren’s Fund, 1932 Ocean Street, Marshfield, MA 02050.
