James Arthur “Jimmy” Bruce, Sr., 77, of Tifton died Friday, November 18, 2011, at Tift Health Care. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2011, in Omega Cemetery. Rev. James Layfield will officiate with burial to follow. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 20, 2011, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Mr. Bruce was born on March 4, 1934 in Wilcox County and was the son of Freeman Bruce and Laurie Standridge Bruce, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one son, James Arthur Bruce, Jr.; and one sister. He was retired from Greenhouse Operations and a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Omega.
Mr. Bruce is survived by his wife, Annie Jane Massey Bruce of Tifton; one brother, Wilbur Bruce of Summerville; and one sister, Myrtle A. Bruce Layfield of Ashburn.
