Obituary

PRINCETON-Costas S. Marnerakis, 66, of Princeton, died Tuesday, November 15th in Brigham & Women’s Hospital. His wife of 36 years, Deborah K. (Mase) Marnerakis died in 2004. He is survived by three daughters, Despina T. Marnerakis of Philadelphia, Margarita D. Durham and her husband, Patrick of Seattle and Katerina C. Marnerakis of Princeton; two brothers, Anthony Marnerakis and his wife Maria of West Haven, CT, and Pantelis Marnerakis and his wife, Maria of Crete; his sister, Despina Galanakis of West Haven, CT; two grandsons, John and Matthew Durham, and several nephews and nieces.

He was born in Chania, Crete the son of Stelianos and Stella (Anastasakis) Marnerakis; and had worked as an electrical engineer for several area companies including Raytheon. Mr. Marnerakis earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Haven, and Master’s Degree in Business from Anna Maria College. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, its choir and the I.E.E.E., a professional organization.

His funeral is Saturday, November 19th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 9:30 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, November 18th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Family Center, 102 Russell Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
