Everett K. Schold,87, of 88 Masonic Home Rd. , Charlton, formerly of Leicester and Spencer, died Monday, Nov. 14 at Overlook Masonic Home after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Ann M. (Morrissey) Schold who died in 1995. He leaves his sons Paul Schold and his wife JoAnn of Leicester and Douglas Schold and his wife Brenda of Orlando, Fl., a son Kenneth Schold died in 1974. He leaves his grandchildren Matthew Schold and his wife Jennifer of Spencer, Heather Ferguson and her husband Sean of Charlestown, and Michael Schold of Orlando, three great grandchildren, Patrick, Samuel and Reese, five step sons Richard Durgin, Sr. of Leicester, Paul Durgin of Ormond Beach, Fl., William Durgin of Whitinsville, Donald Durgin of Auburn, and Timothy Durgin of Worcester, two step daughters Colleen St.Francis of Auburn and Darlene Durgin of Spencer, several step grandchildren, nieces, nephews especially Maury Schold of Stafford Springs, Ct.
Everett was a bricklayer for the Local 6-Bricklayers Union, Clerk of the Works for Worcester and Building & Code Inspector for the Commonwealth of Mass.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of Eric and Mary (McManus) Schold and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. He later served his country during WWII with the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Baltimore, and was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theatre10 Star Medal, American Theatre Medal and Philippine Liberation Medal.
He was an avid Red Sox Fan. His hobbies included CB and H.A.M. radios.
The family would like to thank the Staff of Overlook Masonic Home for their outstanding care. Private graveside services with Military Honors will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester at the convenience of the family. At Everett’s request no funeral services or calling hours are planned.
