Darlene Nelson Branam, 51, of Irwin County died Sunday, November 13, 2011, at Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 15, at 11 AM at the Fitzgerald Church of God with the Rev. Dewain Joyner and the Rev. Ed Reeves officiating. Interment will follow in Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Monday evening at the funeral home and one hour before the service at the church.
Mrs. Branam was born September 16, 1960 in Hialeah, Florida to the late Murray E. Nelson and Copalee Phillips Nelson Shouse. She was a 1977 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. Mrs. Branam was a former employee of Friedlander’s Department Store, Family Dollar and for 32 years was office manager for Chaney-Bush Irrigation.
She is survived by her husbnd, Billy A. Branam of Irwin County; Sisters: Susie (James) Hollingsworth of Abbeville, GA and Reba Nelson of Valdosta, GA; Brothers: Michael (Nancy) Nelson of Davie, FL, Erick (Barbi) Shouse of Wilcox County, GA and Shawn Nelson of Fitzgerald; and 2 nieces. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Nelson.
