Obituary

HELEN I. (WHITTET) COOK, 93, of Hull formerly of Hingham, died on Nov. 11th, 2011 surrounded by her family at the Golden Living Center of Cohasset.

Born and raised in West Roxbury, she attended Girls Latin School in Boston, Rogers Hall Preparatory School, Marot College, Chandler Business School and Chamberlain School or Retailing and Merchandising. It was during her college years that she acquired her nickname of "Bunnie".

Mrs. Cook initially pursued her career in the fashion industry. In 1953 she and her late husband, George W. Cook, moved their growing family to Hingham where she continued to work in office management. She lived in Hingham for 25 years before moving to Hull. She had a lifelong love of books, music and animals.

Mrs. Cook is survived by her three sons, Peter Cook and his wife Maria Trozzi of Boston, Richard Cook of Hull and John Cook and his wife Constance of Lebanon, PA; and her two daughters, Georgia Amonte and her husband Robin of Hingham and Lisa Thurstone of Carver. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was also blessed to have had many special friends, frequent visitors and caregivers.

A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 16th at 10 AM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham. Friends may visit at the Downing Chapel on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.

Donations may be made in her memory to The Resident Council Fund, Golden Living Center, 1 Chief Justice Cushing Highway, Cohasset, MA 02025 or Hull Seaside Animal Rescue, 50 L St., Hull, MA 02045.

Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Jamaica Plain.
