Mr. Edward J. Suslowicz, of Billerica formerly of Wilmington and Somerville passed away peacefully at the age of 90 in his home on November 11th. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara L. (Davidson) and Evelyn A. Leary. Born on July 24, 1921 he was one of two children of the late John and Mary (Dembrowski) Suslowicz.
Edward was a proud United States Navy Veteran of World War II honorably serving as a Fireman 2nd class from 1945 - 1946. He worked for many years as a warehouse man with the Quincy Cold Storage Company of Boston prior to his retirement. Edward enjoyed spending time outside at the beach and sitting in the warmth of the sun. He also enjoyed traveling and taking day trips to the casino. His greatest joy was his family and he cherished the many wonderful times spent with them.
Edward is survived by his children, Gail Emery and her husband Edward of Medford, Leonard "Jim" Suslowicz and his wife Carol Heffernan of Arlington. He was the loving grandfather of eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by his nephews, Stanley and Edward Suslowicz and many loving extended family members of the Leary family. In addition to his late wives and parents he is predeceased by his brother, the late Stanley Suslowicz.
Family and friends will gather at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday, November 15th, at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
