METHUEN – Anthony A. “Cassy” Carsanaro 84 of Methuen, MA died Thursday November 10, 2011 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.
Born and educated in Lawrence, MA he was the son of John and Ann (Malandrino) Carsanaro. He attended Lawrence schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School with the Class of 1944. He served in the U.S. Navy, he received the World War II Victory Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal, the American Theater Medal and was honorably discharged. He was employed for many years with Paparella Bros. and Polo Clothing as a cutter and before retiring with the Town of Methuen.
He enjoyed working as a bar tender at the Sargent Club, Sons of Italy and Mello’s Lounge. He was a member of the Methuen Knights of Columbus, the Sargent Club and the Sons of Italy of Lawrence. He was an avid sports fan especially his favorite Yankee’s. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and attended many of their sport events. He also enjoyed coaching for many years the little league teams in Methuen. After his retirement he took many vacations with his loving wife. His favorite times were spent with his loving family and friends.
He leaves his wife of 52 years Rosalie J. (Neve) Carsanaro of Methuen, MA. One son Anthony J. Carsanaro of Methuen, MA. One daughter Roselle A. Gosselin and her husband Mark of Haverhill, MA.
A sister Angela M. Morse of Methuen, MA a sister-in-law Carol Carsanaro also of Methuen, MA.
Four grandchildren Anthony M. and Arianna M. Carsanaro and Marinna R. and Kyle M. Gosselin all of Haverhill, MA. One great-granddaughter Angelina Carsanaro of Methuen, MA.
Several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Concetto J. Carsanaro
ARRANGEMENTS: In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Heart Association 20 Speen Street Framingham, MA 01710 or to the American Lung Association 460 Totten Pond Road Ste. 400 Waltham, MA 02451 Family and friends may call on Sunday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00a.m. in Corpus Christi Parish/Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
