Alice E. ( McClurg ) Botsch the beloved wife of over 62years to Robert H. Botsch and a lifelong resident of Stoughton passed away on Thursday November 10, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was 84 years old. Mrs. Botsch is also survived by her 4 children, Cynthia Rae Magoon and her late husband Thomas of Waltham, Donna B. Davey and her husband Timothy of Norfolk, Robert H. Botsch Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Southbridge, Sharyn B. Stedman and her husband John of Norton and her 5 grandchildren, Kara and Gregory Davey of Norfolk, Robert Botsch of Southbridge and Thomas and Amanda Stedman both of Norton. She was also a sister to the late George and Andrew McClurg.
Born March 1, 1927 in Stoughton, Massachusetts, Alice was the only daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth ( Wilson ) McClurg. She attended Stoughton Public Schools and was a 1945 graduate of Stoughton High School. She was employed as a Laborer in her earlier years by the former Plymouth Rubber Company in Stoughton. Mrs. Botsch was a dedicated housewife, mother, sister and grandmother. She also attended and was a member of the First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ in Stoughton. Her hobbies included knitting, ceramics and working on crafts of all types.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours which will be held on Sunday November 13, 2011 from 2 - 5 P.M. in the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday November 14, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in The First Congregational Church of Stoughton, United Church of Christ, 76 Pierce Street, Stoughton. The Reverend Jean Niven Lenk, officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kindred Blue Hills Alzheimer’s Care Center, 1044 Park Street, Stoughton, MA 02072 in Alice’s memory would be appreciated.
