Worcester: Louis W. Coates, 62, passed away Friday November 11, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 40 years, Rose M. (McDonald) Coates; a daughter Jessica Vega and her husband Luis; 2 grandchildren Benjamin and Kayla Fontanez; 1 brother James Coates and his wife Patricia of VA; 2 sisters Linda Korczynski and her husband Eugene of Holden and Susan Norling and her husband Ronald of Rutland; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Gail Coates.
Louis was born in Worcester, son of the late Arline (Curtis) Cousineau. He graduated from High School, proudly served his country in the US Navy in Vietnam, and worked as a wire operator at Mercury Wire Co. for many years. He was a member of St. Bernard's Church and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday November 13, 2011 from 4-7 pm in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St.. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday November 14, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Providence 228 Lincoln St. Worcester. Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday November 18, 2011 in the MA Veterans Cemetery, Winchendon.
