GILPIN, GARY STEVE, 71 passed away peacefully at Baptist Hospital East on Saturday November 5, 2011 surrounded by his loving family.
After serving in the U.S. Air Force he worked at American-Standard Supply Co. He then opened Gary S. Gilpin Sales Company where he was a manufacturer's representative for Watts Regulator Co., Jay R. Smith, Potter-Roemer Fire Protection Co., and various other companies for 35 years. He was an avid golfer and very proud of his 4 hole-in-ones. He was an enthusiastic lover and owner of thoroughbred race horses.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Suzette McNatt Gilpin; daughters, Kellie Gilpin Meurer (Chuck) and Stacie Gilpin Russeau (Tim); his beloved granddaughter, Madeline "Maddie" Rose Meurer; aunt, Joanna Gilpin Rogers (Houston); as well as many cousins and good friends.
His family would like to thank everyone for their prayerful support during this time.
Memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway. Visitation will be 1-6 p.m. Saturday. Online condolences to owenfuneralhome.com.
