Harold F. McVey, 79, a retired letter carrier for the US Postal Service, formerly of Greenville, died Monday, November 7, 2011 at his home in Naples, Florida. He was the husband of the late Barbara A. (Thomas) McVey.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Hugh J. and Isabella L. (McNamara) McVey. He had lived in Greenville for 51 years before moving to Florida 12 years ago. He was a Marine serving in Korea.
He is survived by his four daughters, Cynthia A. Balterman of Naples, FL, Major Deborah J. Tarr, USA of Jacksonville, FL, Judith I. Fontaine of Smithfield, Diana S. McVey of North Providence, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a brother James H. McVey of Smithfield.
His funeral will be held Friday at 8:30am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Avenue, Greenville. Burial with military honors in Greenville Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 4-7pm.
