Obituary

Lawrence N. Damico, age 90, of Peabody formerly of Medford, passed away peacefully on November 5th, at the Newton Wellesley Alzheimer’s Center following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Ethel (Fagone) Damico and together they shared more than 69 years of marriage. Born and raised in East Boston, he was the only son of the late Alessandro and Maria (Caruso) Damico.

Larry was a graduate of Northeastern University in 1950 where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Engineering. He went on to work for the Raytheon Corp. as an Electronics Engineer and retired after 35 years of faithful employment. Mostly devoted to his loving family, Larry loved to whistle and also enjoyed singing and dancing. His greatest joy came from time spent with his family. Larry was very active with his church and served as a deacon for many years at St. Paul's Evangelical Church now located in Lexington. He was also a proud United States Army Veteran of WWII.

In addition to his beloved wife, Larry is survived by their children, Sandra Scola of Newburyport, Janice Damico and her husband Christopher Massey, of Arlington, VA, Josephine White and her husband Paul of Watertown. He was the loving grandfather of Paul and Michael Scola, Jessica and Alex Massey, Maria and Daniel White. He was the loving great grandfather of Sophia, Isabella, Sam, Thomas, Julianna and Gianluca. He is also survived by his sister Carmella Christopher of Lynn and predeceased by his sister, the late Lena Serpone.

Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday, Nov. 9th, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service conducted in the Brooksby Village Chapel, 300 Brooksby Village Dr., Peabody, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Tuesday from 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Memorial contributions may be made in Larry's memory to the Alzheimer's Assoc., MA Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472
