DRAGO, Gerald M., resident of Emerson for over forty years.
Growing up in West New York and Guttenberg, he graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in West New York, where he was inducted into St. Joseph’s Athletic Hall of Fame. Jerry served proudly in The Navy and was the assistant basketball coach to dear friend, the late Jerry Halligan of St. Peter’s Prep. He was a New York Giants season ticket holder for over 50 years. A member of Union 12, he retired as the owner of Prestige Insulation and was a parishioner of Assumption R.C. Church in Emerson.
Jerry was a hands on father and husband, always putting his family first. Beloved husband of Diane (nee Cosgrove). Devoted father of Kevin (Laurie), Geralyn (Paul), Erin (Chris). He was most proud of his seven grandchildren: Alexandra and Cole Drago, Kaleigh, Conor and Liam Higgins, Ryan and Caitlin Nallin. Gerald loved the camaraderie of his many nieces, nephews, godchildren and dear friends. Predeceased by sister Martha (Tom) Schneider.

Friends and family will be received on Monday 2-4 &7-9 PM at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday 10 AM at Assumption R.C. Church in Emerson, NJ. Interment to follow to George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
